Hi Folks,
I have recently finised my chemistry degree at the university of york and now looking towards the next year where i will be starting a Postgraduate Course in Teaching Secondary School Science. For doing this course I have been fortunate to be granted with a £9,000 tax free bursary of which i recieve £1,000 a month for 9 months. What i am looking to do is to save around £750 of it every month and put it in a secure savings account or ISA. Im relatively new to the whole savings thing, especially after being a student for the past 3 years savings have been the last thing on my mind. Ideally what i would like is an account where i can deposit money, but not be allowed to withdraw, and ofcourse for the best rate i can obtain.
Any advice and help is much appreciated.

I have just come accross a Reward Saver from the Post office, although i cant access the money easily, which isn't a problem, this seems to be like the thing i am after.

Several other banks offer notice accounts from 30,60,90 days. Northern rock offer a notice account that offers 90 days notice but is different because they offer no option to take it out on the da 90 days mmeans 90 days.
The problem is that my local branch does not have cash facilities so it would be hard for me to pay into it0 -
Have you ever had a mortgage before
maybe try santander home saver?

Save 300 p/m in there?
Then a bond or just an instant access saver.
It depends a lot on your long term plans.War does not determine who is right - only who is left.0
