Anything free with a credit card?

i am 19 and want to get a credit card to get a good credit reference. I will only be using it once a month to put petrol on and then paying it off at the end of the month. Is there any good deals out there where i get something free for signing up with a specific card?eg free mp3 player, cashback etc? thanks in advance

If this is your first credit card you'll probably need to be more concerned about actually getting a card rather than trying to get the best deal (as you have limited credit history).

Usually the advice on that score is either
    (1) Try your own bank
    (2) Try Capital One Classic or Vanquis (as long as you'll pay off the full balance each month) which have a dire! rate of interest but can be used as a 'Credit History builder'

They don't normally do gifts - you can get cashback though by going through the likes of quidco/rpoints though on certain cards. Other than that I think Amazon still gives you a £15 voucher for there card once you have spent on it

When you still have very limited credit history even the best deals any card may offer you might find it very difficult to get or even disapprove. I have to agree with dazza.mk try first your own bank. Good luck.
