freegle / freecycle best given or recieved

Hi everyone!
I've noticed quite a few threads expressing frustration about the direction freegle and freecycle groups are moving.
To remind me and everyone else why we do it, what are the best items you have received or given?
Received - not the most valuable thing I've been given but someone gave us 2 rucksacks to take travelling. At the time we had such a tight budget that it made a huge difference.
Given - someone asked for an antique cast iron glue pot - the sort of thing you really wouldn't expect to get! My dad had one that he had picked up from my uncles carpentry workshop nearly fifty years ago. It was in the garden, half buried in mud, with a geranium growing out of it. The man was an historical reenactor who wanted it to make traditional fish glue to fletch arrows!

My silver beko washing machine which was only 18 months old broke, without a guarantee as was bought in a store, in cash with limited funds, broke, concrete fell out deemed unusable and was our 2nd as the first we got lasted 4 months did the same thing but was replaced, we were in a tiny house so i couldnt store it and i was expecting my third child...I posted a wanted and was given a working bosch washing machine, 10 year old but does a brill job (i just had to hire a van to collect it! i offered my breakdancing washer for spares, with photos and a video on request but none wanted it so i found a repair guy via ebay and gave to him for spares, that was 2 years ago and my bosch washer is still going strong. I did give away all my old fridges, freezes etc on freecycle and offered for family aswell, all great when people actually turn up!If google doesn't know it, how should i?0

recieved: A luna buggy (and a raincover from someone else).
given: an old digital camera (by old it was only about 3mpx) for a lovely elderly guy who was going on a holiday his son had paid for and whose old (film) camera had broken.loves how my "I've been censored" signature has been censored. LOL. Happy Christmas. :xmastree:0 -
Received: Two bikes virtually brand new for my kids last week. They have been wanting one for ages and we were so thrilled with them the kids even sent the nice lady a 'thank you card'
Given: A fridge freezer and a exercise bike0 -
Received: an LCD screen for my macbook. A very nice man gave me the screen out of one that he'd poured tea over
Given: not sure.. I gave a bird cage to a guy who was keeping his budgie in a box after his cage broke, he was really happy about it so that seems like a good one.0 -
Received: New in packets 3 king sized bed sheets
Given: Ford Escort 1.8 car, perfect runner needed £300 to get it thru MOT and I wanted space on the drive0 -
Best received - a barely used enamel bath to replace the cheap one I bought that turned out to be really shallow (I had no idea they came in different sizes until then!) or maybe the two cats I got three years ago that are now part of the family...or maybe the £50 voucher for argos....I could go on!
Best given - I've given so much away - dining table and chairs, sofa bed, double bed, cross trainer...but maybe the actual best (for me) was a load of kids' books cos the little boy who came with his mum to collect was so cute and couldn't thank me enough!GOD BLESS DURAN DURAN
