Hi, I'm new to this so don't know if anyone can help - but here goes..
I came on the site to get the forms for reclaiming card fees when i noticed the ppi reclaim forums. So i decided to check my loans/cc to see if i'd had any & yes i have got ppi on 4 cards i didn't know about! (still to check the loans) I immediately thought i should put a claim in BUT I have actually been on long term sickness since ap 07 & never claimed as i didn't know i had it! (I was still paying the premium until 2009) Is it too late to try & claim? Also none of the cards are current they all ended up with dca's. I'd be really grateful if anyone can point me in the right direction.

If i were you i would write to the card issuers and tell you believe you were missold the PPI and if you had known you had the cover you would have claimed against it when you became ill. Somewhere on this website there is a guide to reclaiming PPI, click on the Reclaim £1000s link at the top of the page and you should find it there. Sorry it won't let me post the link because i'm still a relatively new user of the forums.0

Hi and welcome.
I would do as Pipsi says here, its obvious you have a reclaim, as you didn't know until on checking, so give it a go.
You can actually do this by completing a FOS questionnaire, these were recently issued by the financial ombudsman service (FOS) and in replacement of the first template letter on this site.
You send to whoever was responsible for setting up your policy, so if you used a broker you write to them, or if this was direct with the bank you write to them.
They have 8 weeks in full to respond, they may write and ask for more time, that is okay, just as long as they keep their word, if you hear nothing at all by the time 8 weeks have passed, you are then in your right to complain to the FOS, or if you receive a final decision your not happy with, you then also have the opportunity to complain to the FOS.
Remember to keep copies as well, in case you need to refer to them later on.
Follow the guidelines of reclaiming on the link below, this will take you to the FOS questionnaire, further down the page as stage one.

Your very welcome.
Many have been successful in reclaims even from the 1990's, and it does not matter if the accounts are settled or still active.
I would definately give it a go.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"

Hi, just letting you know I started to get my claims prepared yesterday (4 cards) but decided to ring 1 of the card providers 1st to get the number for the pp, just to see if I could make any claim & guess what? I can backdate my claim for sickness & she's sending me the claim form out! Buoyed by that I then rang the other one (2 cards with them) & they said the same!! So I am really pleased as they told me they will pay off 10% of the amount on the card at the time i went off work for 10 mths which covers the balance & then 2 more payments which should cover any additional interest, as I never used my cards after that date it's looking like all 3 balances will be covered, a massive £7500. Best day's rate I've ever been on!!! Seriously though it will lift a huge burden, just wished i knew i had the damned cover before it caused me all the stress & worry!!
I told them that I'd only just realised that was the reason for a back dated claim. I am still going to definately put in a ppi reclaim but think under the circumstances i'd better wait & get the cards paid 1st.
Interesting thing though, I have had 10 different cards but only ppi taken out on 4, but that's 2 each of the same company's. So only 2 of 8 co's.
Happy day though fingers crossed - i'll update when i know more.0 -
