mouldy soap drawer

Similar problem, since going back to washing power, 'cause all you good folks here keep telling me the liquid detergents clog up the machine, I've found the powder doesn't compleatly dissolve in the drawer, there's allways some left behind, any idea why?0

I have the same problem as well and have tried to clean it. I sort of do a boil wash every two weeks. OH has had a new job as a mechanic since April time and we have to wash the overall, so every two weeks two pairs go in the washing machine at 95. I'll have a check to see if it has helped. I'm ashamed to say, I've no idea if it has or not.0

I clean mine now and again with an old toothbrush -this reaches right to the back after you have removed the drawer and vinegar and bicarb :T0

glad i'm not the only one who gets this!
we keep our's clean regularly, but still get this black mouldy stuff, so i've taken to giving it a 90c wash now and then with nothing in.0 -
I think it must be certain models as I have only had it since we have had a bosch. As someone else mentioned I take it out clean it and inside the compartment with a toothbrush, if its not too bad I put it in the dishwasher first.
I have just started to do the 90 degree wash, with vinegar, but my machine smelt awful afterwards like stale milk, it obviously needed it, but it took another 2 washes just to get it usuable.0 -

My newish machine is a Bosch and it is only now I have had the problem myself! It never happened in my 14year old Servis Quartz.
In all fairness to Bosch they do suggest leaving the drawer and door open to air after a wash.

I've had my machine for about 14 years and I think its on its way out unfortunetly. We're on economy 7 and the noise it made the other night woke other half up. He actually went down stairs to see what was happening.
So not very OS but I might end up with a clean drawer after all.
OH Mum, who's machine drawer will be spotless without me even looking I assure you, drys her's out straight away and washes the actual drawer in the and leaves open for a few hours for it to dry. So maybe thats the key.0
