  • I did sign up as a customer to get the feel of myshoppinggenie. It doesnt necessarily find the cheapest product. It opens up about 12 sites to compare saving you the hassle of retyping and retyping into these sites. the sites are amazon, tesco ebay, misco, buy.com, digidn, ciao, shopping.com, bizrate, google product search, dealtime, kelcoo. They may add to them later. On the screen a small strip will appear along the bottom with the sites mentioned. you click on one and it will open up on a new page with the item you typed in on the search engine.
I feel the idea of myshoppinggenie was put across to me incorrectly as a tool to find the cheapest product. No, its a tool to locate the product through these other webpages but in a much faster way. Is it useful??? Yes from that perspective. Is it a scam business idea? Not entirely sure. it's better to be a customer first and if you really believe in it then sell it.
  • @AzimScot, @improver I. too, am an MLMer but this worries me. One only has to ask where the money comes from to pay the commissions of the 'successful' people in the business. The splash screen for MSG states quite explicitly that there are no affiliations with any organisation so that throws into doubt the idea of Pay Per Click commissions (PPC).

I never found it particulalrly useful with other tools such as MSE's, Google, or 'Invisible Hand' (a Chrome extension) finding good prices. I would think MSG would be described as a screen scraper

    Hmmmm, interesting reading.

this "App" had a full page ad in the local newspaper today (Southern Daily Echo) paid for by one of the gullible distributors. it had a distributor code rather large on the page.

not only that a standard Google search shows how people know how to trick Google's algorithms to get to the top of the search listings.

I really hope people don't fall for this very dodgy sounding programme.

IF IT WANTS YOU TO BYPASS YOUR FIREWALL / VIRUS DETECTION SOFTWARE IT IS BAD.

Without knowing much about the app it may be worth looking into if the 'app' does something like Phorm were planning and collects data regarding your surfing habits to sell on.
