Woodworm in skirting board.

Hi,

Was taking off old skirting board at our house and although it looked fine it crumbled when I took it off and is riddled with wood worm :-(

Thankfully the floors downstairs are concrete and there is no sign of any in the beams or floorboards upstairs.

Do I need to worry about it spreading to the wood upstairs now I have disturbed it?

Does anyone have any advice?

Cheers D

No, if they want to go for the wood upstairs they will have already. I bet its old wood worm damage that you have disturbed did you see any grubs?

Woodworm holes are the exits. Once the holes appear the little beggars have gone.

Cheers will do. It seemed like some of the skirt was really really old and some newer. It only seemed to be affecting the really old stuff! Will get someone along to take a look none the less.
