Halifax £1 a day overdraft charges

Hi
I was wondering if anyone has had any success in complaining and having the £1 a day overdraft charges that the Halifax are charging refunded?
I recently used my dormant Halifax account to take out £30 as I had left my other debit card at home, i intended to pay this money straight back from the bank that I use for my day to day activity but forgot to do so until 16 days later, I didn't know about the changes to how Halifax are charging customers to use an authorised overdraft and only became aware of these charges when I received a statement through stating that I was to be charged £16 for the privilige of borrowing £30 for 16 days, this makes quick quid look competitive!!!
I intend to complain as this is an extortionate cost of borrowing £30 over such a short space of time but was curious if anyone had made a similar complaint and have had any success from this.

The one pound per day charge has replaced the monthly overdraft interest. £1 is not the unauthorised rate, £5 is the unautorised rate if you go over your agreed facility. You cannot claim the £1 per day back. I would suggest you vote with your feet.Best Regards

And if you 'intended to pay this straight back' how did you then forget 'until 16 days later'?Getting married 02.08.14

Don't forget next time and read T&C and their amendments, I am pretty sure they have sent you a letter explaining this change.0 -

Unfortunately 'forgetting' that you had £30 more than you thought you had in your other account is not a valid reason to dispute the charges. You used the overdraft as it was intended to be used, as a buffer when you needed it, and you have therefore paid the fee for this service.jamesmccree wrote: »I forgot, people forget things don't they?Getting married 02.08.14
