Replacement of New Roof valleys - What Cost?

Hi!
I need some advice on replacement cost of two roof valleys.
I have a leaking roof in my bedroom. The roof repair guy immediately said that I need to replace the valleys.
He has given me a quotation of 450 quids for replacing two front valleys.
The leak was observed only recently (last week's rain) and I want to get it repaired without spending time in getting too many quotations (I will get a couple though).
Can someone advice if the cost of 450 for replacing two valleys (he said it will be of Zync) is ok or more? I live in Harrow, London.
Thanks,

I was quoted £400 to do one (in lead) about 8 years ago.0

oh! so is he too cheap?0

Not necessarily... maybe his valley is longer than yours... and zinc is much cheaper than lead.0

Thanks! This brings another question! Which is recommended Lead valley or Zinc valley?0

I had a leak last year, had a selection of roofers come round to quote, couple mentioned a new valley around £500 including the lead.
Turned them all down and asked a good friend round to have a look. Turned out he needed to bend up a bit of lead in the existing valley, that was allowing rain water to enter the roof space. Nothing wrong with the valleys other than and they didn't need replacing.
If this has only just started I would firstly suspect a loose tile/slate, can you not get up on the roof to have a look? Remember the leak on the inside will not correspond to the hole on the outside as water can track when it gets in and will run along the underside of roofing felt.
Remember from all the cowboys out there none come more so as a potential roofer as there is only one trade association that I am aware of that only the best will be members of. How are you going to feel if they have your £450 and it still leaks next time it rains?
End of the day a lot of them take a best guess in the hope it cures the problem.0 -
You can get valleys replaced with GRP - Glass reinforced plastic. Significantly cheaper than the options of Zinc or Lead.0
