Are the cards any good? My bf has been offered one at 19.9% with 0% interest for the 1st 3mths on purchases and 0% for 12 mths on balance transfers. A fee of 2.5% exists though for balance transfers.
Basically where looking to switch his current balance of £5000 and this is the only card he's been offered in the 2 years he's had his current card. We've applied (spaced out) for the last 2 years for other cards so we can switch the balance and all said no, until now.
Our situation at the min is that where buying our 1st place and have left to pay £489 for search fees, we have an online savings account with £200 in, so the rest would go on a credit card.
His current card (TSB) sent him promotional cheques, which can only be used till mid Oct, but they carry 0% interest, which is good, we've actually used one to pay some search fees already.
So should he use this current TSB card for the rest of our search fees (0% cheques) and send off to get this barclay card?
Im thinking even though the 19.9% is a higher rate than his current card (14.9) we would save a lot of money by having this card, especially as where moving into our 1st place, it seems like perfect timing.
Advice/thoughts?

Sounds like a good plan. As long as you are strict with yourself & make sure you use the Barclaycard for the BT only & then use the Lloyds card for the cheques & search fees.
How long will the TSB cheques be 0% for? ( this does surprise me that they are offering him a 0% cheque on an existing account, but it has been known to happen I guess)0 -
0% for 6 mths on the TSB cheques. This did surprise us as well, he got 4 and they're valid until the 15th October.
Thank you for the reply, will be very strict with the barclayscard, been waiting for an offer of 0% for 12mths.Mummy to two girls: October 2013 and February 20160 -
i read that some CC companies (like egg or mint) charge the 2.5% BT fee as a purchases and that fee gets paid off at the end of the loan adding on instrest thru the 12months ,.. u might wanna check that with the barclay card,. i have the same card and will check up on it too0

Has your bf actually been guaranteed the Barclaycard? You confused me when you said he would have to send off for it.0
