Honda Accord cutting out
Brother has a X reg 2001 Honda Accord 1.8 SE petrol. Driving along the engine suddenly cuts out. On the rev meter a green key symbol light flashes. Everytime he restarts the engine the engine starts and instantly the revs drop to zero. Engine starts and runs normally after few attempts (but lately problem can take up to 10-15 attempts waiting couple of minutes between each attempt). The problem will then disappear for couple of weeks and then reappear.
He has checked for loose connection but no luck.
Any idea what the problem can be?

Sound like it may be a problem with the key and immobiliser, has he got a spare key? Why not give that a try and see if it is any better, this is based on the possibility that the green key shaped warning light might indicate and immobiliser fault. Have you got an owners manual to find out what this light is. There should be a round thing attached to the ignition barrel inside the cowling the reads the code on the key when you turn it, there might be a lose cennection there, but my gut instinct is always to suspect the key, as they do tend to be the weak link.0

I've heard of similar issues with engine cutting out and found the MAP sensor was faulty.
The best thing to do is put it on a garage computer and read the fault codes.0 -
Ignition Switch.... IRC Accords were subject to a Recall for it..
During the time taken to wait for it start does the car turn over but wont start?... Or is it dead when turning the key..0 -
