Haven Quay West, South Wales

Who recommeds it!? I fancy a change from Centre Parcs (although we dearly love the place, we'd like to try something else). Quay West is about 3 hours from me, & we can drive about the area if needs must. I've had a look at the prices for 4 nights next August in a Deluxe caravan & its reasonable seeing its peak season.

So what it like? We're a family of 5 & kids will be 9, 7 & 3 by then.

  • Never been to the Haven site but Newquay itself is quite nice with a lovely beach. There's lots of other beaches in the area too. A friend of mine is going to the Haven site with the Sun Holidays in October. She said that a friend of hers highly recommended it to her.

We fancied a change from Center Parcs this year and have booked to go to Bluestone Wales. The accommodation looks nicer than Center Parcs, it has great reviews on Tripadvisor and it is much more reasonably priced. It's also very near to Saundersfoot and Tenby beaches which should keep my 3 year old happy (he loves the beach). Hopefully we'll have a great time.

My family and I LOVE New Quay! We go every year and stay ay Haven Quay West. It's a lovely site and the surrounding area is beautiful. Still not heard back from our Sun hol but hope, if we're lucky, that it's to New Quay.
  • Hi,

We stayed there last year and my girls loved it. Its only a small site but there is still everything you need and there is direct access to the beach too. We only had a budget caravan (because of the dog) but we had a lovely view of the sea from the living area window - it was beautiful.

The actual Haven Park is ok. It's quite pretty, has pretty much everything you need there (shop, entertainment, cafe/restaurant, swimming pool.) and is only a short distance from the beach, but there's not a great deal to do it New Quay itself.
If you're looking for things to do and a place with a bit more life i'd suggest Kiln Park.
