Hi everyone,
We bought our house in March and have a mortgage with Halifax. We took there insurances however after talking to friend etc, I think we are paying way over the odds.
The insurances are broken down per person due to hubby earning twice as much and wanted to get some advise.
Disabiltity cover:
OH: £37.35
me: £16.01
Unemployment cover:
OH: £53.01 (paying 70% of mortgage if unemployed after t&c)
Me: £22.72
Life Cover (300 months)
OH: £15.29
Me: £9.57
Crititcal illness (300 months)
OH: £31.38
Me: £25.82
Total £211.15
I have been on the net and had a quote for Life and Critical cover from the AA for £57.00 per month combined and it makes me wary due to the difference. I have read other posts on here and advise has been given to see IFA however due to work etc it's earsier said than done.
I am also hoping I can cancel easy enough with Halifax if I can get cheaper. I didn't look around when getting the mortgage as when I was on the phone with our offer, they said I needed to have insurance in place straight away so would be easier to do there on the phone....
Thank you in advance for any advice...:o
