Flashing icon

A new icon has appeared on my taskbar.If I click on it a browser appears telling me to download Spy Blaster.Please any ideas on removing it?

you coudl try one of the online scanners, I think at the beging of the thread there is a list of scanners, but try pc pitstop

Pobby ... if you didn't ask for the program, and it's flashing icon, don't touch it. I can't find exactly what this "Spy Blaster" is. I can see it often gets confused with the excellent little free program SpywareBalster from javacool but we need to pin down exactly what you have.

Flashing icons goading you to download something are usually a sign that something is wrong.

If your problem still isn't fixed then post a HijackThis log report to this thread and we'll give you more specific removal instructions.

Congratualtions, Pobby. Well done.

This might be too late now but, so we can all learn, it would be good if you could let us know (a) what "nasty" you had and (b) which scanner remover it for you.

Is there any chance you could let us know? The scans often save a report on your computer at the end of their work showing what they found and what they removed.
