Please rewrite using punctuation. Remember that someone has to read and understand what you are attempting to convey.

Are you writing this from a telephone?

Is your hard drive recognised in the BIOS?

what part of my writing can you not understand to make you think i am writing from a phone,

i don't know if the hard drive is recognised in bios, as i don't know how to find that out,

i am going to give up on this now, maybe get someone who knows what they are doing to have a look at it, rather than me just mucking it up more,

    thank you

    thank you

You have got to be joking about the writing.

Anyway, reboot and and keep pressing F2 before and whilst it is starting up. That will get you into the BIOS screen.

You can take a look there(without changing anything) to see if it states that you even have a HDD in the laptop. Should tell you the capacity etc

If it is recognised, then we can try to change a setting in the BIOS to see if it helps.

well first step would be to download the diagnostics tools from the hard disk manufacturers website and see what they have to say RE is the disk actually terminally faulty?

I'll also repeat my earlier advice which you don;t seem to have done (note this is not the Dell website, dell don't make hard drives!).

(Free) Low level manufacturers diagnostics will be able to thoroughly test the drive, do a full surface scan, repair the drive by block out bad/suspect data sectors and basically tell you if the drive's knackered or not.

There is no point trying to reinstall windows or anything else until you know the hard drive is good or not
