How to convert camcorder video to dvd?

All,
I am a total newbie when it comes to this, so this is my query:
I have some taken some video on my camcorder (using video tape), and would like to convert this onto a DVD in the simplest way possible.
I don't have a firewire, so am connecting my video camera to the pc using USB.
What do I need to do this - i.e. software (or hardware).
Cheers

did you not get any software with your camera? such as an interface?
what does your instruction book say?
if you have to capture the vidoe then you need a video capture card and then three leads, let me know what your instructions say and take it from there or alternatively join Ulead forums its free and they will help you out with any questions

Thanks for that - I'll take a look at those threads.
I'll also take another look at the instructions with the camcorder - I forget off the top of my head what it suggests. I think it was just to move the footage fromt he camera to the pc via the usb - but I'll take another look.0 -
Is it a DV camcorder?
http://www.pinnaclesys.com/PublicSite/us/Products/Consumer+Products/Dazzle/Dazzle+Video+Archiving/Dazzle+DVD+Recorder.htmEver get the feeling you are wasting your time? :rolleyes:0 -
My camcorder is a JVC (GR-D60), which is about 3-4yrs old now I guess, and I have filmed onto mini dv casette.
The software that came with the camera is: Pixela ImageMixer with VCD 1.1. There is also G.726 decoder on the disc, but it says in the instructions that this can be used "Once the camcorder is equipped with Email Clip recording functiong".
Anyhow, I have attempted to get the video off the tape onto my hard drive, but it is being displayed in a .imv format - anyone know if this makes sense, or if this a format that can be converted to be burned to DVD. I may well have b&llsed something up along the way though!
