I sorted out a friends chronically slow pc in august, it was a known issue with adobe but I cant seem to find it on the net now.
It would hardly load a web page, so slow

all I did was update to adobe latest version and it was miraculous, think it was adobe flash.
Check what version you have and google any slowing probs for that

Running a little better now when surfing the net although the forum pages do tend to do some strange things at times. Still takes ages starting up abd shutting down. Working my way through most of post 25 but am struggling to find some of the items listed to deselect from startup using autoruns so have done a new hijacthis. Below is the log for it.
