2002 Ford Fiesta Exhaust needs repairing.
Had a quick search through old posts & couldn't find the info I need so here goes:
The exhaust pipe hanger/bracket on the other half's car has snapped and therefore needs fixing. There is no other damage to the exhaust system (no leaks or dents etc.) so all that is required is a replacement part to properly secure the exhaust pipe again. However having made a search of the internet I have been unable to ascertain the correct name of the part (the metal S shaped part that connect the exhaust pipe to the body via a rubber flange right at the back of the car) or where I may be able to buy one. Hopefully some kind person can fill in the details for me along with the likely cost...

If it's the part that's welded to the exhaust, you need a new section no matter how good it may seem.
If not then your looking at around £30.“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

Yes I think I got things muddled up (only saw the car last night briefly) and unfortunately the bit I was describing is welded to the exhaust pipe. So does anyone know how much a new rear section should cost for a fiesta?0

Alternatively, you may be able to repair using a bracket (eg Ebay item no: 350366267020) secured to the tailpipe using an exhaust clamp mounted as near to the backbox as possible and then a rubber strap up to the chassis hanger.

In the short term you can hang the pipe off electrical cable onto the bracket.I've done it before whilst waiting to get it repaired, you just strip out the wires form inside the cable and tie it up.0

:DI was thinking exactly the Same.... But didn't want to upset the Masses who may think that a repair such as that could be responsible for all of the Worlds problems and more:p......
Secure it for the time being saves buying a BAck box.0 -
If the welded mounting point has come off has it left a hole in the box? If not then could just bodge it up as suggested above, but make sure it is secure, as if a Traffic Plod is behind you at the lights he may not be impressed with your Blue Peter moment. For the sake of £30 I would get the new part, only take a few minutes to fit.0
