How to sell on Ebay?

Hello everyone!

id love to make a bit of cash on selling a few things on ebay. clothes, dvds a few records etc.

anyway although ive bought in ebay a load of times (not any more!) but have never sold anything.. can anyone give me any tips?

im petrified that something going to go wrong, that ill post somethiing and it "wont get there" etc. i do have a paypal account, does it get paid into there and then you transfer it into a current account?

ive also seen on here a few people with problems with buyings and am even more nervous now but i have things i know would probably sell well!

ANY help with this would be fantastic and i'd be so greatful!:j

Thanks!

HIya, it is easier than it looks and very addictive....or is that just me lol.
Anyway paypal - yes you get paid into there and then you transfer it to your bank account - very easy
I can't say anything won't go wrong but you can specify that bidders must have very little neg feedback before bidding etc or their bid will be removed. Maybe try it with one or 2 not so valuable items and see how you go?

    Good luck with it :)

  • I wouldn't take this board as a typical reflection of eBay buying/selling at all, people only tend to post here when they have a problem of some kind and need advice (not a bad thing by the way), in my experience the vast majority of transactions run smoothly, but that wouldn't make for a very interesting post, so you rarely hear about them!

As for selling, it's all pretty straight forward, I'm sure you'll get the hang of it soon enough
  • As sprintstar said, we mostly post on here when we have a problem so it's not a reflection on ebay generally.

I started selling after buying a few items and being very disappointed with the items and the wrapping. I thought I could do much better and continually strive to prove that I can!

I think putting your customer first is priority, yes you do get some idiots/trouble makers but the lovely buyers far outweigh the nasty ones.
  • thanks everyone for your posts.

im sure once i get the hang of it, like anything, ill be fine

i just dont wanna get swindled!! im worried ill put something on and then someone will buy and receive it and then complain its not as described or something! i suppose in that case, i should give everything as much info as poss.

is it right you can put a piccy on for an item for free but any more costs? also how do ebay get paid? do they just automatically take it out the winning bid?

sorry for being a pain, just dont wanna end up paying someone else!!!

    Thanks
