I have just bought AEG L12830 for £319 delivered from CO-OP, was expecting to pay almost £100+ more for this model, just came at a great price all of a sudden on their site even before the comp sites had found out. Not showing at all now, not even sold out message. Which Mag rates the AEG as the most reliable followed by Bosch. I bought through Quidco, used my Divi card for share points & Nationwide credit card for 2nd year warranty. I always said I would never have another W/D but always had cheap machines then. In recent years have always had sep Bosch gear & been very pleased. I am now forced into a situation of living alone in a small house so I have to have a combi, to be fair I have started using washing line much more as I think clothes etc are so much fresher & use TD when the weather is bad. Keep an eye on coop as it may pop-up again.0

I have a washer/dryer , its never broken down on me but the draw has managed to snap of ...guess i was to heavy handed now i have to buy a new one unless i can get them to send a replacement dispenser draw , does anyone know if they will do this as its past its warranty now?
If not then it gives me a good excuse to buy a nice big 8kg one with LCD display i have had my eye on
But i will not buy another Washer/dryer because i am not sure if its the same with all Washer/dryers but the drum was to small i could hardly fit my bedding in ,it cost me almost £500 at the time
Also like as jazzycat says you have to take some of the washing out as the dryer will not cope with it all if its a full load.
I also find that using a dryer to much can also damage your clothes.0 -
We bought a washing machine and tumble dryer at the weekend.
Our £20 local rag dryer died last week, and we knew the weather wouldn't hold so went shopping on Saturday. We slept on it and went back the next day. We bought a washing machine too, as we are buying a house and will need that too.
Tried to get a good deal for a fridge as well, but decided to wait until we have moved, or at leasted measured the new house again.
Tried the dryer for the first time yesterday, although didn't really need to and chose the iron-dry option. Well it was pretty wet when it came out, so put it on again for cupboard dry - still wet, so ironed the stuff dry and hung it up to air.
Suppose I must read the instructions properly as we are obviously doing something wrong.0 -
Yes Washer Dryers are not as good as good as having separate washing machines and dryers - for all the reasons mentioned above. HOWEVER, they are a great if you don't have the space for two machines. We don't and have had a Hoover WD for 10 years - has just "given up the ghost". We've had a few problems with it (nothing major) and my advice would be to find an honest reliable, local WM repairer to keep it going (which is what we did - recommended by a neighbour).
Maybe for a family they're not great but for a single person or a couple, they're a good-enough solution.
Above MW repairer has recommended we buy a Bosch as a replacement - currently searching for lowest price.0 -
We had huge problems with our old washer dryer (Hotpoint)& I vowed never to get another. It wasn't just the hassle of drying only half a load at a time but we had the guy round to fix it so often I remembered how he liked his tea! It was really needed as we were in a flat, no washing line & no central heating either. Just had 2 clothes airers in the end, used to drive me crazy! I also loathe ironing & had to do much more then.
I would suggest putting your money into a high spin washing machine instead. A friend has 1600rpm & you can practically iron things straight from the machine. Look for an A rated appliance. You may need to up your budget a little.0
