25% off Leapfrog products at Woolworths.com + more bargains (merged)

Was in Woolies today and got something similar to the following priced at £21 plus some pence.

http://www.woolworths.co.uk/ww_p2/product/index.jhtml?pid=50717365

This URL links to the 'Gift Pack'. I purchased the 'Starter Pack', which still had 3 books, the holder, the leappad and some headphones. See further down the thread for bar-code info.

This is a huge saving as the system alone is £39. No idea why it was this price, but there was a SEL and it rang through correctly. No more on the shelf in Swindon Woolies, but may be worth a look in other places. This was not in the clearance outlet section, it was with all the full-priced leappad stuff.

Good hunting.:j

  • Checked Islington branch....same item scanned at £48.97 unfortunately (had a sticker on the front showing the smaller reduction from £64)....this was for the age group 4-6yrs...could see they had a pink one for 6-8yrs but didn't check that one.

May be just a local reduction then. Checked my receipt and I paid £21.98.

I have to go back in to town today so I will note the bar code on the SEL if it is still up.

  • Came up at £48.97 at our local woolies too.
Did you definitely get the gift pack version with 3 books and carry case?

i picked up the same set about 8 weeks ago at my local woolies, all the leap pad sets were reduced.

    paid £24 (70% reduction).
  • Was the starter set - leappad with carry case, 3 books and headphones. As another poster said, this has a sticker on it showing the £15 reduction from around £64. However, there was a SEL showing £21.98.

Perhaps they were just clearing their stock, but it was odd that there was a properly printed SEL and not just a hand-written sticker on the box.

Girl on the till looked bemused at the price that came up but I explained the SEL said the same. 'Bit of a bargain' she quipped!!

Sorry if it isn't anywhere else, but it was worth a look I guess.

OK, from the SEL at the Swindon store, the number is 0708431304147.

This had been turned around today so looks like no more stock.

Perhaps another store would do a price-match with the Swindon store? Dunno about this though.

Hmm I'm intrigued by this. My wife bought this pack following the post on here with it reduced to £48 from Woolies. With the price slash I'm assuming it's going to be replacved with another model (maybe with a pen and wipe clean instead of the pencil on this one which seems to attract some negative feedback on Amazon).

We've not opened ours yet so tempted to take it back and see if they slash the price nationwide..... Just popped into Woolies here in Leeds at lunch and all stickered £48 but I'm thinking if the pricing for some posters here was printed rather than hand written prices may be cut again?

    Any thoughts?
  • what colour and age group was the above number quoted for? have just rang woolies customer services and they said that number should come up at 21.98 in all stores, but there are more than 1 starter kit (diff colours/ages) so diff prices iyswim.

To clarify the one I bought for £47.97 (I think) was the blue Leappad plus writing gift set - that's the leappad, the case, 3 books and a set of earphones.

These were still marked £47.97 in the Woolies in Leeds at lunchtime. May go back and check the barcode number - worth asking them to scan it and double check the price??

In that case, the URL the OP provided....

    http://www.woolworths.co.uk/ww_p2/pr...l?pid=50717365

points to a different product to the one he bought...as that's definitely the box I got scanned (I can even make out the Pixar "Cars" book in the case which was also on the one I got scanned).

As mentioned the one I got scanned was fo ages 4-6yrs & blue, there was also a pink one for an older child (6-8yrs)....but I never asked for that to be scanned.

Dunno why Leappad have to make this so difficult with a gazillion variants/age groups/names/colours
