btw I also wanted to ask isit possible to invest in an AIM company?
I want to try and buy into a small mining company as I've heard people have profited from this when a mine is discovered
It is possible. I myself got shares in a mining company (Mining) but also got shares in seven mining companies (Acquisition, Exploration or Development stage) . It is very risky since it is much more violate. For example, the highest return currently from one is +126% (due to increased chance of getting approval) but you can lose like on other end of the scale, -50% (due to coming meeting that the planning permission is most likely to be refused).
As climberup pointed out, it is more speculating than investing...
