I have car insurance with Tesco's and my insurance was due a couple of weeks ago and my wages was late so the direct debit bounced. Anyway, I had a letter from Tesco saying that they will represent the direct debit after 13th August and to make sure there was enough money in my account to prevent my cover being affected.

So, the money's in my account waiting but they haven't represented the direct debit yet but I'm just wondering if I'm still insured to drive my car.

Any advice would be great.

Not all banks show contra entries on your statement. (i.e. direct debit showing as coming off and then contra entry showing it being recredited). If yours is one that does show contra entries then its likely they havent tried to claim it yet. If they dont show contra entries then you wont know if they have attempted and failed until they tell you.

If they say they are going to claim the money again "after" the 13th August that would mean the first possible day to do that is the 16th August. So, you are a bit early to looking. Although some banks update their systems on a Saturday to show Monday transactions.
