There's plenty of offers where group buying of some kind is significantly cheaper, but you can't interest friends/family/whoever in doing it at the same time as you...
Totally random example: 4 Gatwick express tickets for the price of 2 that I saw advertised in tube today. If it's just you going to Gatwick, this offer is no use to you. But it shouldn't be very hard to find 3 other people who want to go to Gatwick at a similar time who would be happy to split the cost.
How about adding a new sub-site to MoneySavingExpert to help people interested in a group deal find one another*? It probably wouldn't work in the forum, it would have to run on different software - but if you did it you'd rake it in
*I would envisage it as something along the lines of an offer is added. Then anyone who is interested in taking up the offer posts when/where it would work for them. Then people match up with one another

Hello a nice fellow
The Forum Rules say:
Why can't I give something to/buy something from someone on the forum?
The safety of our forum users is paramount and for this reason we can't allow anyone to exchange their personal details either on the open forum or via PM, however honourable the intention.
This means we don't allow selling/trading/exchanging/swapping or giving as gifts, nor links to your ebay auctions, or other forms of advertising.
It's probably unlikely that swapping personal information and matching up people is going to be promoted or encouraged on MSE.;)

Hi Nile!
I wasn't suggesting it as a subforum, but as a whole new site feature.
Even if that's against some other current site rule, there's no reason they can't be changed by TPTB if this idea seems good enough to them to justify itSig to go here...0
