Help my bland curry please?

    I guess you added extra veg but didn't adjust the salt and other spices to cover it. In a pan heat a tbs oil and add ginger, garlic, salt and little of other dry spices as per your original receipe, stir fry for a minute or two and mix it with your curry.


    Good point, when you add potatoes you really need to add extra salt.

    I have to say that garam masala doesnt seem to work as well as curry powder for flavouring curries. I usually add it add the end of cooking if the curry is a bit bland. I prefer to use shwartz or sharwoods curry powder - you may prefer another brand or make your own.

    Yes, agree with the above. You need to adjust the amount of spice for the weight of ingredients. However, if you add the spice in the initial stage - when frying the meat/major protein it will be 'stronger' throughout the finished dish.
    For myself I am an optimist - there does not seem to be much use being anything else.
