Claiming off Joint loan ppi

What happens when you make a claim on ppi and it was for a joint loan taken out with 2 people ? I have done this and no longer have contact with my ex-partner. What happens in these cases ? I also posted in another topic about my Mortgage Exit Fee. I have had a successful reply from the company saying they will pay it back in full (£250) but as it was in mine AND my ex-partners name, they need 2 signatures on teh acceptance form. Is there anyway to get MY half or not ?

    Hi Billy

Hopefully someone will have the answers here for you.

Was the loan ppi in both names or just your own?

I "think" if the loan was joint then 2 signatures would have to sign, but I could be wrong, hopefully someone will have the answers on this one for you.;)

As its a Joint mortgage exit fee then I think that both would need to sign and you would have to sort out between you how to get the money sorted. It is hard when its like this but there really is no other way around it BUT if its PPI then mostly these joint loans only cover the main wage earner on the PPI so you could perhaps do it alone IF you were the one covered.

Well i was the main wage earner (partner was unemployed). Bummer on the exit fee :( Happiness rating back down to 6/10 :/
