Plum Tree

There is something terribly wrong with my plum tree. All the leaves in the upper half of the tree have gone brown and all the plums have shrivelled up. Should I cut the tree in half and hope that whatever it is will stop. The rest of the tree is fine and plums are growing on it. If not here, where could I go for free advice.

I would post on the fruit forum of growfruitandveg grapevine forum.

I don't know the answer I'm afraid, but someone there will, if no-one here comes up with help. Especially if you post a photo.

  • Really need a photo for this one. Could be insect damage; but if its only affecting the top half of the tree then its probably a fungal infection.
