Ipod touch connection problems

I have an ipod touch which will not connect to the wireless network at my mums house. Its a dlink wireless router. It seems to be since I changed the wireless network router (dlink) password. I've fiddled about a bit with the ipodtouch and I did once get to a screen which asked me to type in the password which I did but it still won't work - it says not connected to internet when I launch safari. I can't even remember how I got to that screen either as I got so fed up with it that I've just left it for 3 weeks as I didn't have the time. I ought to get it fixed though as I'd like ot use it more often.
It will connect to sky wireless when I'm at my sisters and when I ws in carphone wharehouse it worked on their network.
I don't have any idea what screens to use etc or what else to do to get it to pick up the dlink wireless. Can anyone help! Thanks.
