You will get very different answers, its all about personal preference.
I like netgears, but others don't.
Basically you need a Cable Router (without modem) as you will already have the modem from Blueyonder.
I've only really had dealing with:-
D-Link
Linksys
Netgear
I think Netgears are best (specially when it comes to forwarding ports, servers etc)
Then Linksys
Then D-link. I have a d-link at home and its a realy pain sometimes to get things to work with SPI (Stateful packet inspection) enabled.

http://www.broadbandbuyer.co.uk/Shop/ShopDetail.asp?ProductID=715 - Wireless 108Mbps
http://www.broadbandbuyer.co.uk/Shop/ShopSearch.asp?CategoryID=269 - MIMO (3 times more ditance)
Find the router for you, use something like Froogle UK and try to find the best price available

There is no best as different users prefer different brands etc. and have different requirements. Just make sure that you choose a Cable/DSL modem that will connect to your cable modem via Ethernet. Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0

Thanks for the replies:)
Basically I want to share the internet/files between two pc's prefably using a wired connection, as its faster, but also connect to a laptop using a usb dongle. I would like a stable connection.
I'm looking to pay around £50 for the above, so roughly which is the best for the job above?0 -

This one has a USB adaptor included but you will find many other suitable ones to choose from i.e. here:doh: Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0 -

If you want to use a USB dongle then you will have to use the wireless options.
Wireless offers the same if not more speed than wired. Wired is limited to 100Mbps, new generation wireless can run upto 108Mbps.0 -

But typically you will only get 50% of your stated wireless speed, depending on distance from the access point, number of walls passed through etc0 -
Also 108Mbps is not ratified yet. Not that it'll make any practical difference really.
Just PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE make sure you setup the wireless with security.
I setup one for my SIL the other week. I could see 3 unsecured wireless networks from hers. A few days later I took my laptop to my parents, and there were SIX unsecured networks accessible from her house. Two clicks and I'm connected to someone else's internet connection, and could've browsed their files if I'd felt like it.
The basic setup will likely NOT DO THIS. It'll set it up for you so it all works nicely, but it will be unsecure. If you don't know how to do it, get a friend to do it for you.0 -
