My (suburban) area is planted with hedges that, if not cut back, produce small plums that look like this - some of the bushes are yellow and some red. Neither greatly tasty though0

ive never known what they are but make jam from them when i can find them-have made some this year
found lots of trees with the yellow fruit ripe but not the red ones so plan on going back when next in that area to see if they are ripe then
think this seems an exceptional year for these fruits i remember it being like this about 12 years ago

i think there cherry plums there is an article in bushcraft magazine on them. i've been eating them for a few years some of the trees have red and others have yellow. i was going to make jam or wine maybeI have dyslexia, so get used to my spelling and grammarMortgage pay off date 11/2028. Yes, I would say some variety of cherry plums.
I found a yellow cherry plum tree the other day and have just made 3 jars of jam. Yours do seem to have a slightly greener tinge...but there is a big range of colours...I've also found a tree with some which are turning purplish...but they're not ripe yet...0 -
