Netbook Techie Help Needed.

Hi there.

I got an MSI Wind about a month ago and its been great.

However, today I was on it and I get an error box saying 'Hard Error' and it freezes. I wait afew mins to see if it unfreezes but nothing.

So I shut it down by the power button and turn it on. However it now wont boot up. I hear a quiet 'clicking' noise but it either stays on the MSI screen (Were its says press Del for start up menu ect) or it goes to a page that says 'F3.....' and it stops there.

Has anyone got any ideas?

Yes, the hard disk has failed. The 'clicking' noise means it's good and broken. As it's a month old, then back to the seller for a refund.

If you had any photos, documents etc. on the drive and not backed-up, then they're lost unless you want to spend big money with a data recovery company.

It did just go to the page where you could run in safe mode or start windows normally. I pressed start windows normally, it went to the windows loading up page, after a few mins a blue screen flashed up and then went back to to the start then froze.

I guess I will have to ring maplin up.
