Pre-payment problem!

Trying very hard to switch gas and electric suppliers from horribly expensive BG but when I try using Uswitch it keeps telling me it cant help as I have a pre-payment electric metre? Why is this a problem? I have swapped in the past with door to door people from BG to think it was Calortec ( or something like that, a few years ago now) then to Npower then back to BG, and it was not an issue then. I really want to swap online to use Quidco. Too confused? Help.

i suppose it may be down to having to send someone out to re set the tarriff all the time, your probalbly not a good buiness bet. (sadly), you could go for a credit meter and then look for a company that offers different methods of payment.
I was on pre payment or pay as you go and thats what I was told that its too much hassle to keep sending someone out to change the tariff I was also informed that pre payment meters are not all that accurate anyway. Some companys offer payment methods like weekly at the post office or monthly.

Ta kat21. Think I will give the cheapest one a phonecall and ask. I can always do the rest online when I know what's what.
