Hmmm, we had looked at my son returning to Canada to do his degree - and even being a Canadian born and raised citizen, he would've been an international student based on the fact that we have lived in the UK for seven years. We looked at any funding options - and there was no way that his 'international' fees of $30,000 (UBC/SFU) would be covered by ANY student loan - either here or in Canada. However, there are universities who will offer a 'year abroad' studying - and if you do it that way, you ONLY pay your UK fees. Just had a friend finish a year here in the UK from Canada - and it's a reciprocal agreement apparently - but only covers one year, not an entire degree.
