I'm using the Beta version of Excel 2007 & when INPUTTING dates in UK format (eg 4/11 = 4th November), it converts them to US format so I end up with 11th April
How can I alter this so I can INPUT dates in UK format
Word is set up for UK English.
Please don't say format the cell as a date as that only affect how the data is DISPLAYED

Thanks your advice twigged a brain cell as I'd had this problem before with a different computer & an earlier version of Excel.
For future reference Excel seems to lose track at times of which language is set & so defaults to US English even if the CP settings say that it is UK English
So the fix is to go into the CP settings and change the language to something else (in this case I changed it from UK English to US English) & pressed OK.
I then did it again but this time changed it from US English to UK English.
Result is that it now works0
