Address effecting credit card applications

Hi

My boyfriend (who I live with) and I have both recently seperately applied for credit cards which we have both been turned down from. We did a credit check each and we're fine in that respect, and whilst I realise there are other factors that could impact it, I was wondering whether it could be our address.

We get post on a frequent basis for at least seven different people - two of whom get things from barclays/county court etc. I've put 'return to sender' and put them back in the post box but is this enough? Can I do anything else or is there any way to check whether this is a problem?

Thank you

It will have nothing to do with the address, are you both registered to vote at the address?

Blacklisted addresses do not exist...application are based on personnal circumstances. If it is your first credit card then it might be the reason why you both getting declined...

As above-Try applying for a credit card through your bank, you may get one with a low limit but it's a starting point.

Also if you have not lived at the address very long then it may be a factor...try wait at least 3 months or so of having been in there so it gives time for your name to be updated on the ER (to be sure, as a longest case scenario).

In regards to other people's correspondance, it can indeed be a nightmare...not much else you can do but send it back or contact the relevant parties if they left a forwarding address.
