Morning all. Thought I would pop in and say hi :wave:Hope you dont mind me joining you all in the inn. I am new to comping but not to MSE, I have been persuaded by a friend to get into entering more comps and hoping to pick up lots of tips and make lots of new friends along the way.

Morning all,
Morning twinklelittlestar and welcome to the inn, pull up a chair by the fire and pour yourself a drink

No more snow for us over night, but its still pretty icy here today. I am waiting for a grocery delivery from Tesco, so have my fingers crossed that they won't cancel at the last minute. It includes all my Christmas dinner and food for christmas week (apart from the meat for Christmas day as MIL has ordered that for me :A)

Managed to get loads of comps done yesterday, so I am fairly up to date. So this afternoon I will start baking for DH's office: mincepies and maybe some christmas biscuits too.

Morning all

How Cold? :eek:

Hope everyone's family members get home when they should.

We had a great little weekend at the Langham Hotel,they looked after us very well and it was delightful.The suite was enormous,dinner was an outstanding 5 course menu and the free cocktails were..erm..hic Would never be able to afford the prices there(room was £1300 pn :eek:,dinner £135 each,and 2 cocktails came to £40) so it was really a nice experience. A bit of shopping on Oxford and Regent street inc a trip to Libertys store with our free coin
A very hairy drive back home on Sunday took 7 hours,really terrible conditions,esp the M1 around Milton Keynes,but worth it


Glad to be back though,as a coffee drinker,only 1 sleep till xmas



Got to catch up on comps,hope everyone has been winning and is feeling better.

My groceries have arrived :j And there is enough to feed a small army for several months .
Delivery driver told me I was very lucky to get mine as many are being cancelled due to the side roads being too icy with no grit. His next delivery was in a new housing estate which was accessed down a steep hill, he was still going to try to get it there, bless him. Some of these delivery drivers deserve medals :T.

EDIT: Closingtime - sounds like you had a very glamourous stay, :eek: at the prices though! Glad you enjoyed yourself AND got back home in one piece.

I really must try and get rest of my comps posted. I keep getting distracted or coughing non stop! I'll be glad when all the snow is gone & warm weather is here

Hi everyone!

Welcome twinklelittlestar and captainspam. Nice to meet you.

Glad you got your groceries Molly - saw the Tesco van in my street today. Our street is usually the first to be done in our scheme but it hasn't been touched this time and as it has two steep hills it is quite dangerous. Did a big shop yesterday and car skidded everwhere on the way back up the hill.

Glad you had a good time Closingtime - sounds great! DS2 made it home eventually last night after his bus broke down en-route. Just need DS1 now - been keeping up to date with Heathrow only to discover he flies into Gatwick! He then has to fly to Edinburgh and collect his hire car.

Hope you are feeling better korky. Think I'm nearly better now.
