i've been here years & agree with what you say,
though wouldn't say some of them are for thier post counts, more like a bit of favouritism looks to me :o
Yeah Korks thats probably more accurate & more what I wanted to say
I can see double standards appearing all over now & I don't like it - I have always made an effort to PM newbies when they appear in IWIWIW etc trying to have a wee laugh & point them in the direction of the Inn (most peeps don't notice in here when they start) so that they can feel more part of the community etc but I think some people resent new people starting & stealing their 'wins' . I feel a bit better though know I am not the only one who is finding negotiating the site difficult atm - thanks for the support guys:)

I agree with you both......(where is the confused smilie when you need it?)

    Here I go again! :rotfl:

I''m getting on my soapbox and being a tad controversial again

the smilie has gone as mse has succumbed to political correctness gone mad

a butcher was stopped from displaying a rubber pig because the council thought that it might be offensive

people are not being allowed to wear the cross on a chain at work because it might upset other religions

Home Office minister John Denham was criticised by the police for using the phrase "nitty gritty" because of race relations rules.

He was told that police officers could face disciplinary charges for saying "nitty gritty" because it dates from the slavery era.

The Daily Mail reported how Inland Revenue staff have been banned from donating to a charity which helps send toys to needy children because of its links to Christianity.

Birmingham Council renamed Christmas 'Winterval' and Jobcentres banned Christmas trees and decorations

The Eden Project in Cornwall banned its employers from wishing people a Merry Christmas because the name Christ was in the greeting and it may offend people of other religions.

Some shopping precincts throughout the UK have banned the Salvation Army and other Christian groups from singing carols to shoppers in case they offended other religions.

I could go on and on and on, what has happened to [STRIKE]Great[/STRIKE] Britain sorry it appears that it's now pc to say britain I guess that sum's it all up they have taken the great out of britain

The common excuse given for banning many of the Christian traditions from our culture is that it will offend other religions such as Muslims, Hindu's, etc. However, it is often revealing to find that most people in other religions are actually not offended. What they are offended at, however, is the charge from others that they might find such things offensive. So who is pushing for all of this politically correct claptrap? The answer to this lies in local councils.

I guess it won't be long before the tin pot dictators in the local councils go the whole hog and do like they did in cromwells time and ban christmas or even ban religion altogether like the communist

I am not racialist but I am proud to be british and I am also proud to be a christian

I respect people from all walks of life and to me everyone is a human being no matter what there colour or creed is and if they show me respect I will show them respect back

Christ it makes me  apologies for the blasphemy

    Evening all xxx

I'm having a nice quiet night in. Usually go out for a few drinks and bingo on a Saturday but this has been the longest week ever so have had a nice long lie in today and then a quiet night on the laptop :o It's been awful this week with the snow. It's been a nightmare getting to work and back. Let's hope for a better week next week!!!! Poor Wispa cat seems to be knackered as well - she's flat out on her radiator bed! :rotfl:

I can't believe that we went to bed last night and there was 6 - 8 inches of snow and now there's not a speck in sight. The whole lot has gone in just one day.

I'm just totally bewildered with the whole site at the moment! Just keeping entering and hoping for the best as things seem to keep moving. I'm not an organised person which doesn't help but if I'm meant to win I'm sure I will.
Hope everyone is well and still coping with the cold . See you won some DVDs korky well done - hope you enjoy them.
My Hobgobblin T-shirt arrived and DH tried it on and was really pleased with it until dd came in and said he wasn't allowed to wear it when she was with him!

hiya shiels  thank you :A the Dvd's are great :j
haven't got round to watching them yet but hopefully tomorrow when caught up with most things :j

it's not that i'm bewildered by the site :) just can't comprehend why the bg's say one thing & then in the next time it's either been changed or contridicted :o

hiya fin  i used to love the IWIW & was always in it as loved reading wins, congrat's etc, but, even that's been ruined here,
so only pop in now & again to see if i've had any winners from my comp posts :o
if you post to much in there you get accused by peeps saying you're just trying to get post count up, maybe some do, but what the heck is that of anyone's business, are they jealous ? :)

same as i said, you can get your post count up by joining in the games laks does in the arms, replying on other boards,
    joining in here, etc,

toniq - i'm very organised with my comping as well,
but the boards are a mixture of regs, advents, dailies, 'normal' then sent to the whatever board, the link's are still left on main board,
so are we supposed to go through/subscribe to all the regs so we get a reply every time there's a new post, or enter on a new post on main board ? it's been asked time & time again for a stickie for the twitter/facebook comps, which is a fantastic idea as some of us don't do them, & for those that do it would be much easier for them to find them, so would save the main board for the other comps,
it's been asked for stickies for the reg 'mag' ITV' etc comps but,
but everytime we get told 'no more stickies' then they give a stickie for the advents comps, which half on them get posted on the main board,
no disrepect to you but it seems so contradictory as they say no more stickies then do that, no wonder everyone's getting confused :o

    sorry, just my opinion :o

Amilucky, you do not need too apologise for your comments.

I have so many friends from many different parts of the world, and love and care for them all!

I'm still very proud to say that I'm British, and do respect our British traditions and beliefs.

My ethnic friends would all support me saying this, as they know that I love them as INDIVIUALS, soddin* well bug*er where they originated from...

We do still ALL have the right to freedom of speech, as far as I'm aware... :T
