I have the regular monthly comp & weekly sites in favourites in IE - in folders marked Done July, done August etc & Weekly comps & also daily ones. There are about 100 monthly regular comps - so one/two days, usually near to the end of the month, I go through them - after you have been doing them for a while you tend to remember which are in monthly list when they come up on the main board.
Then I don't bother about using MSE to go to the sites. Usually they have competition in the heading etc. Works well if MSE goes down.

Just as an adage, when I first started comping, about 4 years ago now, I used to use FF and found it easy to comp from, but then for some reason I had to change to IE - problems with FF crashing, I think. Now because of this skimlinks thing, it made me spend a bit of time changing my habits, and get back to using FF & I am so pleased I have. Its so incredibly so much easier to comp from FF. One of the best things is being able to drag & drop stuff so easily.
The only thing I find easier now in IE is the favourites list - so easy to manage and keep track of for daily, weekly & monthly comps.

So point to this is, to anyone, like me, set in their ways comping in IE, spend an hour or too using FF, you won't look back - believe me it took me quite a while to get my head round changing.
So skimlinks did me a good turn in the end.

    Hi everyone,
just a bit of help please! I have just downloaded snap links as I have noticed a lot of people find it helpful. I had a problem initially as it said my version of ff was incompatible but I searched back on here and found someone who had suggested downloading 'nightly tester tools' which can override it which I have done, and now I have snap links downloaded. I have now worked out(!) how to draw the box around what I want and it opens a new tab but it opens as facebook and wants me to share?! Can anyone explain to me what on earth I have done?!! Hope this makes sense! x

  • I only do my competitions from MSE and don't download anything onto my computer. This morning when I logged on, in no time my computer starting running really slowly. I was comping for about half an hour and turned off and went to work. When I checked my emails via work computer about an hour and a half later I found that 101 emails had been sent, my email account was hijacked. The password had not been changed, so not sure at all how this sort of thing happens.
Anyway, I have changed my password and run a virus check, no more emails were sent after I changed the password. I just wanted to warn others on here that one of the sites we are going on maybe a little dodgy. I enter my comps in order of them being posted, so if I am right (and I may not be) there could be a dodgy site somewhere hidden in the posts between 10pm ish last night and 8.30am ish this morning. At the same time I was also on Facebook and went through quite a few pages pressing "Like" that fellow compers had already been on.

This is not a grumble about this site in the slightest, just a little warning to others...

Which email provider are you using? I know that a lot of Hotmail accounts have been hijacked, nothing to do with comps though as friends of mine have never been on this site and don't enter comps.

So not the Hotmail problem then. Hope you're clear now, it's worrying when things like that happen.
