This is just the reason I can't seem to get my shopping bill down! I just find it so hard to compromise on healthier options which are more expensive. Working hard though this month to get shopping down to £250.00 for four. May have to resort to white bread.....AHHHHH0

I use a breadmaker and make a lovely fresh loaf every day, how about getting one? You can get them quite cheap now and the cost would balance out in about a month. You can't beat the smell of fresh bread wafting through the house!Mortgage-free wannabe!0

my last loaf of wholemeal cost 88p from Sainsburys. I think there's some things I'm happy to pay the cheapest price for and others where cheap = nasty (bread, meat, etc)0

Get to your local bakery and ask them to slice you a wholemeal loaf. Mine sells lovely deep brown, malty bread for 69pence a large loaf and they will slice it to the thickness desired. PLUS you're helping the smaller businesses too.0
