If the other cards have reduce payments/frozen interest I think they'd be unlikely to take on the debt from another company.0

No the limits on the smaller cards are all low and there is no way I can transfer anything anywhere as most cards have agreed reduced payments/frozen interest. All I can do is try and throw as much as I can at the MBNA cards and hope for the best.I will be closing the cards as soon as I possibly can-I don't ever want anything from MBNA again.I have cut them up and don't ever plan on using them.Debts Jan 2014 £20,108.34

I will do one tonight when the kids are all fast asleep.I don't think there's anything else that can be done-the budget is already so tight that an extra £5 on something will just kill meDebts Jan 2014 £20,108.34

Hi there, a bit more info for you, i'm on a DMP with payplan and MBNA is the only one of my creditors that has refused my offer (although they have frozen interest and charges). From talking to them, they will accept an offer that will mean that the debt will be paid off in 10 years - unfortnunately for me that isn't possible as I cant treat my creditors differently.
From what I have seen on the boards MBNA are a bit difficult!debt April 2007:
Link Financial £6486.79
MSDW £4915.45
Natwest Loan £30651.43
Tesco £3824.09
Total debt.... a staggering £45877.76, but reducing
Debt free date June 2013 (a long way off and counting...)0 -
Oh no
That's really harsh. Maybe another whack at the SOA will have to be done until a bit can be paid off to reduce the monthly MBNA back to what it is presently.

I note you say they have blocked tha acc... how is your credit file ?
i understand you're an expert in this area - would they have blocked his card because of his DMP? can you explain how they can do this despite the fact he's made all the required payments to them and on time?
(incidentally - when i had to stop working i made the mistake of telling egg who immediately blocked my card without telling me - (despite the fact that i told them i would be able to, and in fact did, made all payments on time, and in fact paid off a big chunk so i would have available cash in emergency) which made me extremely cross)carve your name in red. the silver slipping and slicing. rose petals blossom and fall. soul steals away.0 -

They blocked it because they said as I was having difficulty paying that they didn't want me using the card, despite me never being late with a payment and always making at least minimum payments.Of course now it's blocked they can't reduce the interest so I have asked for it to be unblocked so theyc an look at reducing the interest-if that doesn't work then they will review it in 3 months but that doesn't help much now.Another card did the same but unblocked it when I asked-when it's paid off it may come in handy for a balance transfer as the interest rate is lower on it.I will never ever have any kind of credit with MBNA again after the way they have treated me.Actually every time I ring them up they make me cry by telling me how stupid I was to use the card when I was on benefits, and how irresponsible I was-yes that's true but if they hadn't given me such high limits to start with I wouldn't have spent the money would I??So they're just as irresponsible as they knew I was on benefits.

They would Block the acc simply because of a DMP.
If you tell them you are out of work, also of course they will block the acc.... sorry .0
