Painting feature wall - edging with masking tape?

Hi,
We are going to paint a feature wall in our lounge tomorrow, we did two in our bedroom last weekend and used masking tape to edge... it went ok but in places the paint peeled and had to touched up.
We applied two coats and tried removing the masking tape at different times, but each time we goot some peeling:
1. After two coats and about 12 hours after 2nd coat (least peeling)
2. After 2nd coat has just been painted and still wet (worst peeling)
3. After 2nd coat had dried (about 4hours after)
Anyone got any ideas??
As this wall is in the lounge which is the main room in our house we really want this to be perfect.
Thanks

You need a very low tack tape to avoid damaging the basecoat. What were you using? You need minimum 4 hours between each coat, colour. Finally use thin coats. The thicker it is the more likely to peel.

Are you painting TO the edge of the tape or OVER the edge of the tape?

It's easier to use a good brush and a steady confident hand, holding the brush so it's on a slant. You just have to go for it!0

you have to use good quality tape. the cheap stuff is complete rubbish for this type of work.
and the timing is critical. just as the paint is going off/setting. not too soon and not too late.
pull the tape off at right angles.Get some gorm.0
