Auto Wireless connection problem ???, please help

My daughters laptop is having problems connecting via wireless,

however when I check out "Manage Wireless Networks"

I can see the router where the laptop was originally connected to, but can't seem to connect to it
it appears to be not connecting automatically to it

not sure what me daughters done, I've tried several time rebooting all without any joy

any help/assistance would be appreciated

    Is the wireless switch on the laptop off, there should be an indicator to show when it is on.

    the wireless symbol indicates no connection, where is the wireless switch??

    No idea, you've not told us what the laptop is.

    Depends on the make of laptop, usually a small slide switch next to the wireless indicator light.

    its a Dell Inspriron 1750

    also I've got the same one, mine is connected to the router o.k and working fine

    so dam frustrating, have had this problem on the odd occasion in the past, usually just reboot and it connects first time, not tonight have been looking around, trying to manage or connect to a network, its not having none of it

    please help

    Phew !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    gods knows how, but the wireless connection just came back on

    like I said earlier, I have been looking and comparing setting against my Dell Inspriron, everything seemed to be in order

    however after almost 2 hours of looking/checking/comparing etc

    rebooted 1 more time and hey-presto, wireless connection enabled

    a happy ending to my brief problem

    My work laptop stpped connecting automatically when I installed an 02 dongle, isthe connect automatically to a network box ticked?
