Ahhh asking prices. Good old asking prices.

Show sentiment in the market if they are rising.

Are absolutely meaningless if they are falling.

You do learn a lot round here :)

The only thing we know for sure about average asking prices is that they bear no resemblance to actual sold prices.

They have fallen when prices are rising, and risen when prices were falling.

I expect the latter is more common than the former though.

No idea. But asking prices fell for several months last year whilst sold prices increased.

You'd certainly expect all the recent post-hips kite flyers to have to reduce to sell. But that doesn't mean they'll be selling for less than the current sold prices of similar properties. Which is why propertybee is worthless for determining market trends.

If propertybee where more popular, I think it could influnce market trends.

Given the conditions that you describe, I would have thought that house prices would then be falling, which would cancel some or all of the negative effects of inflation. You never know, prices might fall enough to make the wait worthwhile.
really - what price drops would you need to make it worthwhile?
