Home insurance

Hi, i m buying a house and now my solicitor wants building insurance sent to him before he/we can complete the purchase.
i had a look through comparison sites but they will be sending the documents to that address where i m not living yet. and i will have no access to. so it will be impossible to get the documents and than forward them to my solicitors.
Any idea what i should do?

Your solicitor will need the certificate to confirm to your lender insurance is in place before they will complete the mortgage and advance the funds. (Presumably the vendor has agreed to keep insuring the property between exchange and completion)

You need to take a policy out with an insurer who will deal with a correspondence address separately to the address of the property.
