Going grey ...

... and I'm only 26!

Ok, maybe I'm exaggerating slightly, but I definitely had 2 grey/white hairs this morning! (Had, as I got OH to pull them out for me :o)

Is it normal to get random grey hairs this young??? I've been through quite a lot of stress recently, could this have caused it? Am I going to have to start dying my hair every few months now? :rotfl:

Depends how quickly it changes -

I got my first grey hair at 26, started dyeing it thinking I'd go white early like my mother. Discovered that wasn't the case so grew out the dye job.

Started colouring my hair last year as the white were becoming noticeable but didn't want to keep pulling them out. I'm 40 now, and the whites are coming in thick and fast round my temples but I'm getting away with semi premanent rinses the same as my natural colour used to be - my hair has got duller over the years, it used to be more auburn than plain old brown, so the light ash brown colour I use turns out quite nicely.:)

I found a grey hair when I was 22, but haven't noticed anymore since, so it may just be the odd one.

I found the first odd grey hairs in my 20s when I was happy to just high light my hair.

I've no idea how grey I am now and I have no intention of finding out ;). I've been colouring/bleaching it since I was 14 and iI've no plans to stop yet.

I first found grey hairs a few years ago now but it never crossed my mind to do anyting about it. Couldn't be bothered with the hassle and have more important things to bother about. Surely I'm not the only one!

I started to go grey before I was 30. My dad was the same so I think it is all down to genes. On the other hand my mother did not get any grey until she was quite elderly. My brother takes after our mum and although he is only a couple of years younger than me, has no grey at all. Life just is not fair :)

I have been dyeing for years I'm afraid. Whenever I have been tempted to see what the natural look would be, I have chickened out and reached for the Nice 'n' Easy!
  • Was 14 when I first started going grey and was over 40 when I had to start dying it to cover up grey. Everyone is different, some people's colour goes quickly while others take years. There are a lot worse things that could happen to you.

I had a couple of grey hairs when young, then a couple more, then a few more ... thankfully my hair is a mix of natural colours that everybody mistakes for artificial highlights, so they grey doesn't stand out.

I had the odd one in my early 20s so did lots of people I know, its not unusual at all, I dyed my hair then anyway and still do every 3 weeks if I leave it longer I can just see that I probably have about 20-30% grey but its all over the place and not a type of hair colour I would want, I think grey looks good when its all over and a proper colour not just here and there, watch out for the ones that grow upwards at the top of your head and can only be seen in certain lights;):rotfl:

I have a friend (female) who is bald and she looks stunning and my dad is bald and has been since his early 20s and he's handsome, so all in all I quite like bald:D
