The government are cutting so many depts, i do believe that the CSA should be the first to go. Ok, they may do a thankless job at times but what is the actual success rate? and what about all the errors they make?? they do not represent value for money and this has knock on effects for everyone involved. I firmly believe that if savings must be made then the csa should be swapped for a "no win no fee" type group of solicitors - even if they take 30 - 50% of "winnings" (for want of a better word) it would still leave a lot of parents with more money than what the csa can get for them, a lot less time would be spent on the phone asking for updates (a bit of advise - dont ring, the answer is always "call back in 8 - 12 weeks"...!)

The courts can't make him pay ongoing maintenance - only arrears. He will continue to rack up arrears by not paying his ongoing maintenance, which will eventually lead to further liability orders and court hearings. So, if courts told him to pay £90 per month, that will be arrears only.

I didn't get anything from my ex husband as he lives and works in Thailand.

As soon as my (our) son turned 18 he sent him an open ended plane ticket for him to go and see him. He has since taken the ticket and stayed with friends he made when we lived out there.

He told him where to shove it. My son has no good things to say about his father or thoughts. He missed out on so much of his growing up, he played Joseph in the school nativity as an example, his loss, he will never have a relationship with his son now, its too late.
