Spray Tanning

  • No .. the only thing i have ever come accross once was where a woman had an allerigic reaction and turned green ! that was once out of all the years i have been doing it.

I would recommend with you to maybe leave it on 10 hours, and also unlike the advice normally given do not moisturize the night before, it can sometimes act as a barrier against the tan.

Other advice I would give to brides is start up a strict routine of exfoliating and daily mosturizing in the weeks leading up to the tan, this will ensure perfect results. Also It is better to wax/ veet your legs/ armpits a few days prior to the tan as you cannot shave whilst it is developing, and I always
find if your shaving whilst the tan is on it can make it fade in them areas and also go patchy

I'm very pale and I'm going to have a few sunbeds leading up to the wedding, even just so my skin is white and not blue lol

I wouldn't have a spray tan incase it went streaky, eek!

I had a fake bake tan done by a lady who visited us at someone's house (not for a wedding, just for fun) - I am very pale, but with freckles, and it looked superb, even OH liked it, and he was really rude about people who get tangoed before we went. I had the palest one, on the advice of the lady

I would try it, and see how you like it. I much preferred it to a natural tan, which always has strap marks with me, and much more even than a moisturiser one. I wouldn't do it often though, I did think it was expensive for a one-off "make-up" effect.

If you want to try a gradual tan moisturiser i think the best one is the Dove one. With the johnsons i get a bit of an orangey colour but that might just be me! Prepare to smell like fake tan for about 2 weeks though!
Also get a specific face one as the body one can be a bit greasy on your skin
What matters most is how well you walk through the fire

Thanks guys, actuall you've really put my mind at rest - I am going to give it a go I think. Then I can make my decision.

I must admit, it does sound less hassle and presumably wont stink of tan.

    Thanks
    xx
  • Hi,

I had exactly the same thoughts as you and would suggest you have a trial run and then make up your mind. Beware though, it's freezing!

I had it done at night thinking I would sleep while it was developing. I wasn't told that it had a dye in it until after I had it done and would have to wear pyjamas in bed (not a normal occurrance!) The smell was disgusting and my fianc! and I didn't sleep very well because of it. When I washed it off in the morning it looked ok, but within a few days had become patchy and dirty-looking. (I had thoroughly exfoliated and moisturised for days before.) Also, I had self-adhesive pads attached to my feet to prevent discolouration, but when they were removed, they left sticky bits on the bottom of my feet which took forever to scrub off.

In the end, I didn't bother having a spray tan for my 2nd wedding, I used a body lotion with a devloping colour which didn't come off on my clothes and I felt that having to wash my hands afterwards nowhere near as fiddly as the pyjamas in bed and sticky feet!

Good luck with whatever you decide and I hope you have the perfect day. (Mine was the happiest day of my life!) :T
