Legoland - help please

I'm trying to book a trip to Legoland next Sunday/Monday. We're travelling from a long way so want to travel up on Sunday, probably stoppping at a few touristy sights along the way. We want to stay in a hotel near to Legoland on the Sunday night and have a full day in Legoland, travelling home on Monday night.
Any ideas what the cheapest way of doing it is? We've got 3 children with us (9,6 and 2). I've seen we can get our Legoland tickets for £50 on lastminute - is that the cheapest around at the mo? And where is the best place to look for a cheap hotel?
Any ideas *very* gratefully received.

Hi, I live in Old Windsor which is a couple of miles away from Legoland. Accomodation round here is horrendously expensive. There is an Innkeepers Lodge nearby which does family rooms (I think) Here's the link http://www.innkeeperslodge.com/lodgedetail.asp?lid=35 It's actually cheaper on a Friday or Saturday night than Sun-Thur.
Slough is a major town a few miles away, and they have a Travelodge https://www.travelodge.co.uk/make_a_booking/availability.php?hotel_id=249&doa_dd=24&doa_mm=09-2006&stay_len=1&no_of_rooms=1&corp_id=&rate_plan=&agent_type=&agent_code=&x=38&y=10 and also a TravelInn. http://www.premiertravelinn.com/pti/home.do
Sorry, I don't know of cheap ways to get in to Legoland. £50 certainly seems cheap compared to the prices specified on the Legoland website!
Enjoy your trip!0 -
There is also a travelodge in Staines that is not that far away from Legoland.
I think the last minute tickets are the best you are going to get.0 -
Cheapest way to get into Legoland IMO is Tesco Deals Tokens. We used about £25 of Clubcard vouchers to get our family of 4 into Legoland. We also packed a picnic to avoid paying for lunch, so all we paid all day was £1 for the locker and ice cream money. Result!
Sorry cant help you on the accommodation. Im sure if you venture a little further away you will find somewhere cheap, it doesnt open til 10am (on weekends anyway)
Dont forget to pack bathers for the kids to go in the water play area in DuploLand!0 -
We got a deal with the quality hotel, the entrance to the park for two days and 1 night in the hotel, with the Lego club, very good i will dig out the price.
Its worth considering if your travelling along way to do the two days. we had a great time and would have missed lots if only had been for the day.
We travelled from the LakesThe futures bright the future is Ginger0 -

HI Again
There is a thread elsewhere on the board with a link to children-go-free vouchers.
