It is perfectly okay to take cash. It saves you the Paypal fees (tho not the e-bay fees of course). I have collected quite a few items and always paid cash (don't accept a cheque though, it could bounce...)

  • If the buyer is coming to collect the item then paying by cash is the best way to go.

If the buyer were to pay via PayPal and then collect the item they could then start a dispute via PayPal saying that they never received the item. PayPal would require you to provide tracking information which you won't be able to do and you would automatically lose the dispute.

Ebay only states you are not allowed to request cash, as it gets lost in the post. For a local pick-up, having your buyer pay by cash is a necessity really.
    :wall:
  • As the pretty fairy says don’t ever accept payapl for collected items - they could sign a receipt in Blood in front of the Pope and paypal will still not accept it as ''track able'' delivery
  • If your a woman, dont be in the house alone when they come to pick it up, you never know who your letting into your house. Hmm i guess the same could go for guys aswell.

    Better safe than sorry etc!

Really I'm just echoing what others have said. You would be crazy to accept paypal on a collected item it is an absolute no no.

Paypal when an item is posted or cash on collection.
