Oh I had forgotten about the excess
only about £150 of food in the freezer, and the excess is £50 so if they won't replace the fridge freezer we will at least get £100 towards the food I guess. 0 -

Do you mind me asking this? I have to make a claim on my contents insurance. First claim in 15 years.
How much will this affect future renewals in higher premiums? Will my insurance go up alot cos ive made a claim?
Thanks.0 -
Angie mine went up after out burglary but not by huge amounts! I think it depends on the company.
I have only ever claimed twice the first claim was water damage from a leaky bath and we were with Northern Rock - but their premiums when up every year.
With the company I am with now after the claim they told me there would beputting them up but it was only by about £2 a month?? I could swallow that as they settled my claim in full and quickly (had a £250 excess for burglary)The worst cliques are those which consist of one man ~ George Bernard Shaw

Of course i dont mind. I can class that as work !!!!
Household Insurance increases are never the same sort as you may get on your car Insurance, as the NCB levels are lower.
It depends on costs of claim and what the claim was for.
What i see is approx 15% increase on average.
Sometime you are best to stay Insured with who you were with for the claim, as alot of Insurers dont like new policies if claims in the last 12 months, partic burgulary or malicous damage claim.
Whats happened ?? (being nosey)I'm no expert, but i'll give you my opinion, my support and my experience. Its all i have.
